WEYBURN - Mental health author Elizabeth A. Prost will attend a book signing event for her book “Waiting for Winter”, at the Weyburn Public Library on Sunday, December 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Prost was born and raised in Radville. She attended the Weyburn Comprehensive, and was well known for her time as an amateur figure skater in Weyburn, Regina and Toronto.

During her time as a skater, Prost competed at the 1979 Canada Winter Games, won the championship at the 1982 Saskatchewan Section Junior Ladies, and toured as ‘Daisy Duck’ with Disney on Ice in the United States and Australia from 1997 to 1998.

It was these life experiences that shaped the details of “Waiting for Winter” which was written as a memoir. Prost takes readers on a journey through life, death, rebirth, and back home again.

As she travelled the world and made her choices, ‘Lizzie’ also ventured to the depths of despair and learned to live positively with mental illness.

‘Waiting for Winter’ also details the author discovering the vistas of Saskatchewan, feel and taste the changing landscape of ice, exploring Savannah, Georgia, and understanding what it is like to be Daisy Duck with Disney on Ice while witnessing her struggle to find happiness and serenity within herself.

Prost is in the process of publishing “Break Through Not Down – Change your Mind”, which will be released January 2022.

This new mental health handbook is written with illustrations, and includes categories for men and women, and for tweens and teens.
