Boundaries and Expectations:

Positive Peer Influence: Young person has friends that model responsible behavior.

High Expectations: Both parents and teachers encourage the young person to do well.

Please dress kids for the wet and muddy conditions! As the snow is melting and rainy days are ahead, the playground can be very messy at times! Please remind your children, the students are asked to stay away from the mud and puddles. Splash pants and rubber boots are a great idea! Older students are expected to be able to keep themselves dry! Younger students may need an extra change of dry clothes in their backpack just in case!

One Color. One Purpose. One Community. This past Wednesday, May 1st was our third annual Pink day. The purpose of "Pink Day" is to raise an awareness of bullying and the effects it may have on our students. During the day we hope to give our students the ability and confidence to stand up and speak out against bullying, whether it is happening to them, or they are a bystander seeing it happen to someone else. We also want parents, students and staff to understand the importance of all of us working together in the fight against bullying, not only in schools but also in our community. All students will get a new pink t-shirt to show their awareness and commitment to the fight against bullying.

Once again our Grade 2s have a chance to take part in the Jump Rope for Heart Program which will run over the noon hour recess from 12:20 to 12:45. Students must eat their lunch at school on these days. Skipping is an excellent way to improve cardio-vascular health and besides, it's FUN! Students taking part will be collecting pledges for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan so please donate to one of our jumpers if you get the chance! All the money raised from this program stays in the province. On May 31st, all jumpers will participate in a "Jump Off", where they will skip for 30 minutes then enjoy a free subway lunch. Thank you to all parents and students who will be helping with that event!

Thursday, May 16th is the Bike Rodeo for the grade 1 to 3 students from 9:00 to 10:30am. Please remember to send helmets along with the kids' bikes! Students without bikes will still be able to take part in the activities. We will need parent volunteers again this year to run the events, please call the school at 453-2393 if you would be able to help out! If we have rain or bad weather, the rodeo will be cancelled, so we hope for a warm sunny day!

Looking for board games, card games, or puzzles that parents may have at home that don't get used anymore. There were a few cold days this winter that the kids spent recess in the classroom, and there will likely be a few rainy days this spring! The classes would be very happy to accept any donations of games that the kids could use during indoor recesses. Thank you!
