City police investigate break-ins, thefts, mischief

Weyburn Police Service received 106 calls for service during the week of Sept. 5-11, including mischief in public places, thefts and break-ins. A break and enter to a residence in the Weyburn Trailer court was reported.

A break and enter to a residence in the Weyburn Trailer court was reported. The person responsible was later apprehended. The incident is still under investigation.

On Sept. 11 several young adults damaged bleachers in Jubilee Park. Beer bottles were broken in the park and lots of litter was discarded in the area. The identities of several people responsible are known and the investigation is continuing.

Stolen property from the King George Hotel was recovered by police at the Circle 6 motel. The persons responsible were guests at the motel.

A vehicle was stopped for a speeding infraction while travelling on Highway 39 on Sept. 5 shortly after midnight. The driver was found to be impaired by alcohol and was charged for impaired driving.

A few hours later a vehicle was stopped on a routine traffic stop. This driver was also charged for impaired driving.

A motorist struck a pedestrian at the intersection of First Avenue and Government Road on Sept. 6. There weren't any injuries.

On Sept. 8 police attended a residence on the 300 block of Second Ave. A man was assisted with resolving issues related to mental health.

The Weyburn Police would like to remind motorists that schools are operating and beginning a new school year. There were several complaints reporting speeding violations and disregarding bus signals.

A man was injured in a bar fight at the King George hotel on Sept. 9. He was treated at the Weyburn General hospital and later released.

Police attended to Park Avenue to attend to an intoxicated male who was passed out in a front yard.

Police attended a domestic disturbance on Alexandra St. The interior of the residence was damaged but there were no injuries to persons. One individual who was intoxicated was arrested and held in cells till sober.

A house was egged on the 1800 block of Eaglesham Ave. Siding on the house was damaged as a result.

A vehicle was stopped on the 1300 block of Railway Avenue on Sept. 10. The driver was charged for refusing a breath test, impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and driving while disqualified.

A woman was charged for breaching her probation order in that she consumed alcohol.

Police were called to a residence in the Weyburn Trailer court. Two males were involved in the disturbance, and both were intoxicated. The situation was resolved without charges.

Police attended the Ramada Hotel, where a man and his girlfriend were fighting. Alcohol was involved.

Police assisted the taxi service in removing an intoxicated male from the cab who had passed out.

A man was suspended for impaired driving while operating a vehicle on 3rd St. S.
