City police kept busy with thefts, mischief, accidents

Once again members of the Weyburn Police Service were busy dealing with 110 calls for service during the week of Nov. 7-13. Many of the calls were alcohol related and several disturbances and motor vehicle accidents were attended.

The city police are investigating a complaint of graffiti painted on the doors of a bathroom in a local park, reported on Nov. 8; the matter is under investigation.

Police were called to investigate complaints of a theft of gas and suspicious vehicles on Nov. 9. The matters are under investigation.

Police were called on Sunday to investigate a report of threats by mail. The matter is under investigation.

City police continue to receive complaints regarding motorists who fail to stop for school bus flashing lights and stop arms. The Police Service would like to remind drivers to obey these safety devices and that they could be charged under the Traffic Safety act if they do not.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the city on Nov. 7. The matter was mediated.
The same day, police were called to a disturbance involving a pedestrian and a home owner. The matter is under investigation.

Police were called to a complaint of an intoxicated male in a local business on Nov. 7. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.

Police were called to a complaint of an intoxicated female on Nov. 8. The female was taken to hospital.
Weyburn police were called to a report of a domestic dispute; upon arrival the parties had already left the scene.
Police were called regarding a child custody matter on Thursday; the matter was mediated between the parties involved.

Police were called to reports of intoxicated persons at local businesses on Thursday; in both cases the subjects involved were arrested for being drunk in public and lodged in cells for their own safety.
Police were called on Friday to locate a missing person who may be suffering from a medical condition. He was later located.
City police were called on Friday to a local bar to remove a person who was banned from being there. The male left before police arrival.

Police were called to a local bar in regards to males who were fighting on Friday. The males left prior to police arrival.
A local male was arrested for breaching his release conditions on Saturday. He will be appearing in court in December.
Police were called on Saturday to a local bar to investigate a complaint of a patron refusing to leave. The male was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was arrested and charged. He will be appearing in court in December.
Police were called to a complaint of a suicidal male on Sunday. The male was taken to local hospital.
