The City of Weyburn saw July producing the biggest building permit month in over 25 years.
Manager of Community Services for the City of Weyburn, Doug Mulhall, said this is the largest month of building permits he has seen in 28 years on the job in Weyburn.
"We have had an unbelievable year so far in the City of Weyburn for building activity. In the month of July alone, we have issued 24 permits valued at $44.5 million. That is a huge dollar value of construction for a community the size of Weyburn."
Mulhall breaks down the total to include nine commercial permits worth $2.6 million, three industrial permits worth $13.5 million, 10 residential permits worth $4.6 million and two institutional permits worth $23.7 million.
This brings the year-to-date total to 121 permits valued at $62.6 million. That compares to the same time last year of 117 permits worth $20 million.
