WEYBURN - The Communithon Finance committee is again working hard this year to provide donors with more options and convenience given the current economic climate.

The Communithon Committee has been able to partner with some of the local financial institutions or HUBS who have agreed to accept individual or personal donations via cash or cheque.

Those locations include: Bank of Montreal, Scotia Bank and Weyburn Credit Union.  They would like to remind donors that all cheque donations be made out to the United Way of Regina. Donations will be accepted at the HUBS from Oct. 3 to 26.

The finance committee will again be offering two other ways to donate the day of Communithon.

They will have curbside drop off available on the day of Communithon, where you can come down to the Legion, give a wave or honk. They will have someone come out to your car, get the donation, have it processed inside, and return to your vehicle with your tax receipt.

The second service will be donation pick ups. They will have members of their team available to pick up donations from your home, as donors can call in a pledge during Communithon and ask for the pickup service. The team will be providing pickups throughout the event at 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m.

As always they welcome people to come to the Legion Hall on the day of Communithon to drop off their donations, as they will still be set up on location to receive donations as usual. Local residents can always donate through the website by credit card at www.communithon.com.

The Communithon Committee is looking forward to another successful event, to be held on Friday, October 28, from 8 a.m to 11 p.m.

The Weyburn Communithon supports many community organizations. The 10 community agencies for 2022 are: Big Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health Association, Community Low Income Centre, CNIB Foundation, Envision Counselling and Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, Southeast Advocates for Employment, Weyburn Care-A-Van, and Weyburn Youth Centre.

The committee wants to provide convenient, accessible and easy ways to donate to this community event, so if you are wanting to make a donation to Communithon this year, please visit one of the hubs, go online to www.communithon.com, stop by for curbside drop off, come in person to the Legion, or call on the day of Communithon and have your donation picked up from your house.
