ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were called to a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on Saturday evening.

The cyclist, who was struck while crossing the street in the downtown area, sustained injuries and was assessed at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene but was located a short time later, and was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for failing to yield the right of way.

Police conducted high-visibility impaired driving check stops Saturday evening, and spoke with individuals in over 400 vehicles. Multiple mandatory roadside breath tests were administered and all drivers were found to be sober.

Members arrested a female Friday who was found to have an outstanding warrant with the Moose Jaw Police Service. She was subsequently released to attend court on a future date to speak to the matter.

The EPS received a complaint regarding an intoxicated male at a local sporting event. The individual was located and was permitted to make arrangements to return home for the night.

Several curfew compliance checks were completed on individuals bound by court-ordered conditions. All individuals checked were found to be home and abiding by their respective conditions.
