EPS members issue two $578 speeding tickets

Members of the Estevan Police Service issued two large tickets for speeding.

ESTEVAN – Members of the Estevan Police Service issued two hefty speeding tickets on Saturday.

Police issued summary offence tickets to two eastbound motorists for exceeding the speed limit by more than 35 kilometres per hour. They were observed driving at a very high rate of speed while leaving the city.

The fine for each driver was $578.

They will appear in Traffic Court in May to answer to the charges.

No other details were immediately released. 

Earlier in the week, a local male was charged Wednesday with failing to comply with conditions of his release. Methamphetamine and marijuana were located in the residence. The male was released with a future court date.

Police received a report of two individuals yelling at each other in the southern part of the city. Members located both parties and warned them of their actions. No further action required by police.

A report of a possible break and enter in the central part of the city also came in. The file is still under investigation.
