Two people charged in Estevan for trafficking cocaine and fentanyl

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service (EPS) has announced charges against two people.

According to the EPS, during the Sept. 30 night shift, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the downtown area, resulting in two individuals from Estevan being arrested and charged with multiple offences.

Zack Elund, age 27, has been charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Angella Chouinard, age 29, has been charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Both accused remained in custody until they were released in front of a justice of the peace with a court date in December to speak to the matter.
