Estevan police make arrests for theft from business, impaired driving

The Estevan Police Service arrested four people on Wednesday, including an impaired driver and a person wanted in connection with a theft.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service arrested four people on Jan. 3, including theft under $5,000, impaired driving and outstanding warrants.

Officers responded to a complaint of a theft from a local business. A 20-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000. He was released with conditions and will appear in court in March to answer to the charge.

Police arrested a 55-year-old Estevan woman after a traffic stop in the downtown area. She has been charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08 and she will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges. Her driver’s licence was suspended indefinitely and her vehicle was impounded for 60 days.

Members arrested a 49-year-old Weyburn man for public intoxication and refusing to leave a licensed premise when asked to do so, after a complaint from a local establishment. He was lodged in cells until sober.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old Winnipeg man for public intoxication after he was observed in the downtown area. It was later discovered the male had warrants for his arrest for assault and failing to appear in court. He was lodged in cells and will appear in court in March to answer to the charges.
