Estevan police received a report of an assault on the weekend

Police were also called about a scam, a fraud and the theft of a charity box.

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were called about an assault on the weekend.

The victim reported Sunday he had been assaulted the previous evening. The incident is still under investigation.

Also on Sunday, police attended to a disturbance at a residence in the Trojan subdivision. Officers spoke to both parties and were able to mediate a temporary resolution.

Police received a report from a citizen that he backed into a vehicle in a parking lot. The complainant was not able to locate the owner of the vehicle he struck. With police assistance, the owner was identified and notified of the damage.

Members received a report of theft of a charity box from a local business on Friday. The matter is under investigation.

The EPS received a report of an attempt scam. The complainant in the matter was contacted and informed that a transaction had taken place on the complainant’s Amazon account, which the person doesn’t have. The EPS reminds the public to be cautious in responding to unexpected messages.

A report came in of a fraud at a business in Estevan. A statement was obtained and the matter is still under investigation.

Members responded to a call through the Report Impaired Drivers line from the east end of the city. As a result, a 45-year-old Estevan man was arrested for two counts of failing to comply with a release order. The male was lodged in cells and remanded for court on May 30.
