Fair days set to go

The Weyburn Agricultural Society Fair will officially kick-off summer for Weyburn and area. The fun begins with the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce's annual Fair Parade on July 5. The parade will leave from Fifth Avenue North at 10:30 a.m.

Members of the Midale Lutheran Youth Group, Weyburn 4-H Light Horse Club, Weyburn Gymnastic Club and Weyburn Synchro Stars will be busy on July 5, 6 and 7 keeping the Midway tidy as the SaskPower Clean Team. The team will pick-up garbage around the Exhibition Grounds during the Weyburn Agricultural Society Fair.

The Weyburn Agricultural Society Fair will officially kick-off summer for Weyburn and area. The fun begins with the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce's annual Fair Parade on July 5. The parade will leave from Fifth Avenue North at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to First Avenue NE. It will travel down Main Street and up Second Street NE, turn onto Bison Avenue, up King Street and back onto First Avenue. From there it will travel past Tatagwa View.The Fair will take place from Monday, July 5 to Wednesday, July 7 at the Exhibition Grounds. It begins at 2 p.m. on the 5th and 12 p.m. on the 6th and 7th. Features include the Youth Talent Search, petting zoo, horse-pull competition, pony chuck wagon and chariot races, and demo derby and lawn mower races. Daily attractions include the Magic Caravan Show, karaoke and Dan the One Man Band. Several rides will be featured at the Midway.Due to renovations at Crescent Point Place and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena, the exhibit displays will be featured in the Weyburn Curling Rink. Exhibits include home products, household arts, junior work, agricultural products, photography and more.A lack of participants has led to the cancellation of the annual Ranch Rodeo put on by the Ag. Society.
