Fillmore residents receive QE Platinum Jubilee medals

Seven Fillmore and area residents travelled to Yorkton on Jan. 27 to take part in the presentation of QE Platinum Jubilee medals.

The recipients of the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee medals from Fillmore included Eldon Piper, who was recognized for his volunteer services; Brenda Grieve, Jordan Lynch, Darren Urban and Vicki Procyk, all recognized for health services; and Larry Wiggins and Sheaunid Wiggins, volunteer services.

FILLMORE – Seven Fillmore and area residents travelled to Yorkton on Jan. 27 to take part in the presentation of Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee medals.

The recipients included Eldon Piper, who was recognized for his volunteer services; Brenda Grieve, Jordan Lynch, Darren Urban and Vicki Procyk, all recognized for health services; and Larry Wiggins and Sheaunid Wiggins, volunteer services.

They were presented with the medals by Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty for their contributions as volunteers in their community or province. A reception followed for the 88 honourees and their guests.

Russ Leguee, Jake Leguee, Melissa Woodward, Lori Fahlman and Natasha Belof were unable to attend, but will also receive medals for their contributions to health services.

At a ceremony in Arcola, held earlier in the month, Sandra Urban of Saskatoon accepted a posthumous medal for her mother, Carol Urban, for her volunteer services.
