The 5th Annual Weyburn Campaign to End Duchenne will take place on Saturday, May 3 at Assiniboia Park Elementary School.

Registration takes place at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. Pledge forms can be picked up at SheriLou's Alterations behind Mel's On Third or you can make online pledges at www.jessesjourney.com.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive muscular disorder. Those affected are usually wheelchair bound by the age of 12 and rarely live past their twenties. All donations go to Jesse's Journey, a registered Canadian charity that funds research for this condition.

Over the past four years Jesse's Journey has raised over $65,000 and are hoping to hit $80,000 if not higher this year as it is the final year. The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous and supportive people in and around Weyburn.

Participants should register by April 26, 2014. Any questions can be directed to mandy@thekerrs.ca or by calling 306-842-0849.
