Fundraiser event set for Wheatland Seniors Centre

The Wheatland Seniors Centre will hold a couple of fundraiser events on Saturday, Nov. 26, with a craft-bake sale, and beef-on-a-bun.

WEYBURN – A craft and bake sale will be held at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To rent a table for the sale, the cost is $20 per table. Contact Marlene at 306-891-5230 to book a table, or call the Wheatland centre at 306-842-3503.

The Wheatland will also be selling beef on a bun on Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at a cost of $8 per person.

The month-end supper will be held on Friday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m., featuring pork cutlets.

Bingo is held every Thursday at the Wheatland Seniors Centre at 1 p.m. Slider cards are available for 50 cents each.

The results of the games held at Wheatland from Nov. 14-18 are as follows.

The winners of spades are Shirley Sparks in first place; Ernie Lokken in second; and Sheila Greiner in third.

In hi-low whist, first place went to Marg Schultz and Fay; second was Connie and Ray Boucher; third was Dave Frayn and Marg Leavens; and in fourth was Basil Holyer and Marlene Szczecinski, tied with Vivian Schultz and Willa-Mae Donald.

In canasta, Chris Herlick won first; Eveline Porte was second, and Pat Peterson was third.

The winners of Kaiser are Marie Marcotte and Eva Morley in first; Fran Franks and Melba Bent in second; Shirley Sparks and Rose Levesque in third; and Basil Holyer and Elaine Frasz in fourth.

In Thursday cribbage, Shirley Sparks and Rose Levesque won first; Connie and Ray Boucher were second; Tara Osbourne and Marylou Schultz placed third; and Marg Leavens and Marlene Szczecinski came fourth.

The winners of shuffleboard were Fran Franks and Ron Frayn in first; Willa-Mae Donald and Ray Boucher in second; and Kathryn Groshong and Joe Byers in third.

In fun crib, Sheila Geriux won first, Mildred Sandiford was second, and Chris Herlick was third.
