A GoFundMe campaign has been started to support the owners of Kenosee Lake’s Moosehead Inn, which was destroyed by a fire that broke out late Friday.

The campaign was started by Brad Chapman, who used to work at the popular business. He wrote he was working to help Moosehead owner Dale Orsted and the Moosehead family after “a devastating fire which has left a hole in all our hearts.

“We are doing our best to raise as much funds as possible to assist during this most difficult time.”

The restaurant and cabaret nightclub was a popular destination for people from throughout southeast Saskatchewan, and was also a draw for those visiting Kenosee Lake from throughout the province.

“It provided decades of entertainment to thousands over the years, notorious for good times and an unparalleled atmosphere, amazing food, and the very best of people society has to offer,” Chapman wrote.

“Every dollar helps, I’m asking to share this for us and let us help those who have us so many priceless memories. Thank you.”

As of Saturday afternoon, the campaign had raised $2,300 of its $40,000 goal, with 11 donors.
