Health clinic returns to Lafleche

Nurse Practitioner available by appointment and walk-in.

LAFLECHE – Residents in and around Lafleche will soon be able to go to the health centre in that community for primary care. Addressing primary health care needs accounts for 80 per cent of all interactions in the system, and will improve services for this part of the province.

“Prior to the pandemic, primary care services were provided in a separate building from the existing clinic,” said Lisa Cairns, Primary Health Care Manager in the Lafleche area for the Saskatchewan Health Authority. “The SHA is pleased to announce the resumption of services will operate from a space within the Lafleche Health Centre.”

Often seen as the first point of contact with the health care system and the most frequently used health service, people can book in with concerns such as the flu, allergies, chronic conditions (diabetes and arthritis), or for seeking advice about diet, addictions, and physical therapy options.

Effective Jan. 10, the clinic will be operational every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with walk-ins accepted each morning from 9-11 a.m.

“This is thanks to the successful recruitment of Aubrey Tollefson [Nurse Practitioner], who will be practicing two days per week,” Cairns said.

Residents of the area can call (306) 354-2300 to book an appointment.
