The Weyburn Co-op Board of Directors recently announced a donation-matching incentive program to raise funds for the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation. The purpose of this program is to encourage members to donate to the hospital foundation.
Weyburn Co-op will match the amount of monies donated by the membership up to $1,000 per member, to a maximum of $100,000 in total donations.
One of the cornerstones of the Co-operative members' benefits program is Community Builder.
As communities grow, it is imperative that services are offered to residents that will encourage relocation to our community, whether it is through retirement, or looking for employment opportunities. These services include strong recreational programs, clean modern shopping experiences, a strong education system, entertainment, sports, arts and culture, as well as a strong health services program.
Weyburn Co-op is therefore in support of the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation in raising funds for a new hospital, which will enhance the services provided to existing and prospective residents.
The Co-operative feels that this hospital will be very beneficial to the community and would like to encourage as many as possible to contribute to this vital project.
Donations can be made directly to the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation with a copy of the receipt provided to the Co-operative, or it can be made at either the service counter or the administration office of the Weyburn Co-op.
Every month the Bags to Riches and Casual Friday programs are designated to a specific non-profit charity. The month of January charity was named The Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation. The amount raised was $275.00. As a kick off to the donation matching program, the Weyburn Co-op matched that donation. The $550.00 presented on January 30 officially represents the first $275.00 of the $100,000 committed.
