Chris Mallinos, senior speech writer for NDP leader, Thomas Mulcair, visits the home of Tommy Douglas on Wednesday during a cross country car trip. Weyburn was on Mallinos' top three places to visit in his trek from Ottawa to Victoria and he specifically wanted to visit the Tommy Douglas Centre and the statue of Tommy Douglas, which was donated to Weyburn by Lea Vivot. Mallinos used to write speeches for the late Jack Layton also.
