Police deal with moose/vehicle collision

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of June 14 to 20: *On June 18, a local business filed a complaint with the police regarding an internal theft of money. One of their employees was charged with theft over $5,000.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of June 14 to 20:

*On June 18, a local business filed a complaint with the police regarding an internal theft of money. One of their employees was charged with theft over $5,000.

*In the early evening, a local resident had a motor vehicle collision with a cow moose on Highway 39 by the Ramada Inn. The moose had to be destroyed. The vehicle received extensive damage.

Police are reminding residents to watch for wildlife crossing roads, especially moose as they are very dark and, unlike a lot of animals, their eyes do not reflect when lights shine on them.

*Over the weekend, three persons were lodged in cells for being drunk in a public place and one person was lodged in cells for disturbing the peace.

*Police received 128 requests for service during this reporting period.
