A number of traffic violation tickets were served, including a ticket under the Cannabis Act which resulted in a small amount of marijuana being seized.

The initiative also resulted in a traffic stop in central Estevan in which a 43-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged for impaired driving. He was transported to the EPS where he was lodged in cells until sober. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on March 6 at 9:30 a.m.

Another assault was reported at a south Estevan residence. The issue, which was family related, was calmed without further incident, but further investigation is to be done by the EPS’s Police and Crisis Team Unit and Southeast Regional Victim Services.

An assault was reported at a south Estevan residence, however upon police arrival, the matter was determined to be the result of an intoxicated male slipping on the ice after exiting a vehicle and injuring himself. Estevan EMS attended and the male was released with what the EPS described as minor injuries.
