Police require input regarding graffiti and thefts

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of July 18 to 24: *On July 24, police were called to investigate a theft of wire from the SaskPower compound. The matter is under investigation.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of July 18 to 24:

*On July 24, police were called to investigate a theft of wire from the SaskPower compound. The matter is under investigation.

*On July 23, police attended several alarm calls, issued several tickets for liquor infractions, and one driver had his driver's license suspended.

*On July 22, police were called to a residence to investigate a damage report to a vehicle that had a window smashed out. The matter is under investigation.

Police were called and assisted RCMP with a motor vehicle accident on Highway 39.

*On July 20, police were called to a domestic dispute between family members. The matter was settled without further incident.

*On July 19, police were called to a fight outside a local bar. The matter was settled without further incident.

*Police were called to investigate an assault in progress, the matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate a complaint of shoplifting. A local male was arrested and charged with theft.

*On July 18, police were called to investigate a complaint of threatening text messages. The matter was mediated.

*Police were called regarding a fraudulent phone call that was received in which the caller identified himself as a computer repair technician and asks the victim for personal information. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate an assault that occurred at a local residence. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate a hit and run accident, the matter is under investigation.

*During the past week there were 107 calls for service. Many calls were alcohol related. Several alarms were attended, several disturbances were settled and reported calls of actual and attempted thefts of copper wire were reported.

*Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers and the Weyburn Police Service are asking the public's assistance is solving the following crimes:

*On July 12, patrol members found that several churches in the city had been tagged with graffiti. Happy faces, profanity and pentagrams were sprayed on the buildings.

*On July 21, police received a complaint of an object being thrown through a garage window and damaging a vehicle

*On July 21 and July 24, police received complaints of welding cable and copper cable being stolen or attempted to be stolen from parked vehicles at the SaskPower Compound.
