Police respond to variety of complaints over past week

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of November 7 to 14: During the reporting period, police dealt with 110 calls for service. Many of the calls were alcohol related and several disturbances and motor vehicle accidents were attended.

During the reporting period, police dealt with 110 calls for service. Many of the calls were alcohol related and several disturbances and motor vehicle accidents were attended.

*On November 13, police were called to a complaint of a suicidal male. The male was taken to local hospital.

*Police were called to investigate a report of threats by mail. The matter is under investigation.

*On November 12, a local male was arrested for breaching his release conditions. He will be appearing in court in December.

*On November 11, police were called to locate a missing person who may be suffering from a medical condition. He was later located.

*Police were called to a local bar to remove a person who was banned from being there. The male left before police arrival.

*Police were called to a local bar in regards to males who were fighting. The males left prior to police arrival.

*Police were called to a local bar to investigate a complaint of a patron refusing to leave. The male was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was arrested and charged. He will be appearing in court in December.

*On November 10, police were called to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon police arrival the parties had already left the scene.

*Police were called regarding a child custody matter. The matter was mediated between the parties involved.

*Police were called to reports of intoxicated persons at local businesses, in both cases the subjects involved were arrested for being drunk in public and lodged in cells for their own safety.

*On November 9, police were called to investigate complaints of a theft of gas and suspicious vehicles. The matters are under investigation.

*On November 8, police were called to a complaint of an intoxicated female. The female was taken to hospital.

*Police are investigating a complaint of graffiti painted on the doors of a bathroom in a local park, the matter is under investigation.

*On November 7, police were called to a domestic disturbance in the city. The matter was mediated.

*Police were called to a disturbance involving a pedestrian and a home owner. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to a complaint of an intoxicated male in a local business. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.

*Police continue to receive complaints regarding motorists who fail to stop for school bus flashing lights and stop arms. Drivers are reminded to obey these safety devices. Failure to do so could result in charges placed under the Traffic Safety Act.
