A Weyburn learner driver won a $250 gas card from SGI, just for practicing their driving skills.
Braden Coad was one of ten lucky winners across the province that entered SGI's yearly draw when they tracked their in-car hours using the practice log for new drivers and submitted the log to SGI. The other nine winners of a $250 gas card were: Calla Giesbrecht of Bruno, Courtney Cochrane of Moose Jaw, Callie Wilson, Gabriella Fortugno, Nathan Balas, Kylee Stevenson, and Malachy Jones, all from Saskatoon, Marina Straub of North Battleford, and Tyson Sanderson of Rosetown
To help gain driving experience, learner drivers are encouraged to log a minimum of 36 hours under various driving conditions over their nine-month learning period.
"The more practice a learner driver can get before taking their road test, the better," said Ciaran Downes, SGI Manager of Driver Development.
"SGI's reward program provides that extra incentive for learner drivers to gain the driving skills they need to be safe on the road."
To be eligible for the reward program, learner drivers must submit their practice log with 36 hours completed to the driver examiner at the time of their road test, or mail it to SGI.
