UPDATE: man charged with manslaughter in Regina

Regina police responded yesterday to a third homicide to occur since last Thursday .

The Regina Police Service have laid charges in the city's eleventh homicide of 2021.

REGINA — One man has been charged in connection with the death of a Regina man, found inside a home on Wednesday night.

Mitchell Anthony, 43, was declared deceased inside a home on the 900 block of King Street, after both police and EMS attended to the scene. 

After investigation by the police and coroner's service, Reagan MacDonald, 20 of Regina has been taken into custody and charged with manslaughter and failure to comply, in relation to the incident.

MacDonald made an appearance in provincial court earlier this morning.

Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m.: Regina police are investigating another homicide in the city, after responding to a call to a home on Wednesday evening. 

Police were dispatched to a home on the 900 block of King Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, following up on a report of an unresponsive male at the address.

EMS were requested upon immediate arrival to the home, where police found an adult male victim and began performing CPR. 

Identified as Mitchell Anthony, 43, of Regina, he could not be revived and was declared deceased at the scene. Anthony’s family have been notified of his death.

Regina police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the circumstances around Anthony’s death, which is being considered a homicide. 

This is the city’s 11th homicide of the year, and the third reported within the past week.
