Salvation Army kettle campaign begins in Weyburn

Capt. Mike Mailman holds one of the jars for the new "Cash for our Community" project as the Salvation Army kicked off its annual kettle campaign on Friday at the Canadian Tire store.

The Salvation Army will have kettles at various places around the city, with volunteers from all walks of life, including many of the community's service clubs and organizations taking a turn to man the kettle.

The Salvation Army hopes to provide a Merry Christmas this year to many people who are less fortunate.
