CORONACH - A Santa Run was held in the community of Coronach, to fundraise for Make a Wish Canada. The race registrations were done through the virtual five kilometres site hohoholiday5k.com.

All monies raised go to Make a Wish Canada. Anyone can sign up online and they mail registered teams a Santa suit for the run.

This was the second year doing this run around Coronach. Last year it was just a family group and this year the run was advertised to the community for anyone who wanted to join.

The five kilometres took place December 5 with 31 runners. The weather was not great but everyone was such great sports and came out anyways. The group raises $1,317 through community donations.

The Nook owner Jackie Marshall was gracious enough to open for the group and provide coffee and hot chocolate to warm up after the race.

The first place adult was Peyton Gent and first place child was Ted Fulton.

They are hoping to make this an annual event and look forward to more people joining us next year. They were grateful to everyone who donated and came out to cheer them on.
