SaskEnergy raises over $1,700 for Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park

Donations, including $500 from SaskEnergy, brought the total raised to $1,758

WEYBURN – Employees from SaskEnergy’s Weyburn office had an iced tea stand set up on Aug. 16 to raise funds for Weyburn’s Therapeutic Animal Park.

This was the fourth year they have held the fundraiser, located in the Peavey Mart parking lot, and they were back after missing the last two years due to the COVID pandemic.

The iced tea stand, plus donations, raised $1,258.70, plus SaskEnergy donated an additional $500 to bring the grand total to $1,758.70.

SaskEnergy had pledged to match 50 per cent of the funds raised by the employees up to a maximum of $500.

The iced tea and Rice Krispie squares were available by donation, plus SaskEnergy employee Michell Giroux noted there were people who drove by just to donate money without getting a fresh drink. The cheque was presented to the Animal Park on Friday afternoon.
