WEYBURN – A cast of about 20 performers from SaskExpress will bring the imagination of Dr. Seuss to the Cugnet Centre stage on Thursday, Dec. 15, with a production of “Seussical” stage musical, starting at 7 p.m.

“This show is a combination of multiple Seuss stories that brings you into the Seussical world of imagination and creativity,” said cast member Jesse Stradeski, who plays the Mayor of Whoville.

The story mainly follows the plot of “Horton Hears a Who”, but there are elements and characters from other Dr. Seuss stories, such as “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (with events after that story took place), and the Cat in the Hat as a few examples.

“It’s a show for all ages that you could enjoy, whether you’re eight years old or 50 years old,” said Stradeski.

“You will recognize characters and can follow the plots that have happened in other stories, and has some nice sincere moments as well.”

The cast includes some very experienced performers and some who learned their parts in a short time, he added, with one performer coming in from Toronto and another from Vancouver.

“It’s a very talented group and I’ve very much enjoyed working with them,” said Stradeski, adding there are also some very talented musicians who will play, as well as a soundtrack for parts of it.

The director for the show is Danny Balkwill, and tickets are available online at the SaskExpress website, or at the door, with discounts for children, students and seniors.

“We’re very excited to perform in this production. We’ve been working very hard and I hope everyone enjoys what we have to offer,” said Stradeski.
