Grade 1 students in teacher Nancy Smoliak's class at Assiniboia Park School reach out to try and touch one of the new hatchlings on a paper mat spread out in their classroom on Apr. 17.
The students include, from left going clockwise, Kent Shumlich, Ryder Knox, David Helfrick, Tegan Dubasov, Rhyder Renner, Lucas Hughes, Patrick Keating, Skylar Schultz, Gracie Renner, Sydney Keating, Gracyn Knipfel and Kimberly Balayar. Once the class is done with the chicks, they will go to the Elias farm at Fillmore
