Two vehicles impounded due to drivers' impairment

ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members conducted two separate impairment checks on March 10, and in both cases, vehicles had to be impounded.

In the first case, vehicle stop resulted in the driver receiving a 72-hour suspension for THC. Their vehicle was towed and impounded.

The same day, another vehicle stop resulted in the driver being charged with Impaired Driving and Driving while over .08 after a Report Impaired Drivers (RID) call. The driver was lodged in cells until sober.

On March 10 as well, police received a report of a fail to remain at an accident scene. The matter remains under investigation.

Police also were dispatched to a local business for a report of uttering threats. Members attended and the matter remains under investigation.

A search of a residence led to a female being charged with a breach of her release conditions, for possession of a laptop. She was released on an undertaking.

Earlier this week, on March 7, police received a report of a scam.  An individual attempted to purchase an item online and forwarded money for the item. Then the victim could no longer get in contact with the seller. The matter is still under investigation.

Police were also called to a local hotel to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. The male was intoxicated such that he couldn't remember his address. His address was later identified, and he was transported home where his family was able to take care of him.
