Radville singer and songwriter Lexie Tytlandsvik earned her way to the Top 30 across Canada in an online competition for a record label. The 15-year-old is the only artist from Saskatchewan to have made it this far.
The national online competition is with EMI/ Virgin/ Capitol Records. Residents can go online to www.moartist.com to make a fan profile, join Lexie's page and vote for her daily.
The online competition started last year in April, and involved uploading music and videos of her original songs to the Internet and then networking with other artists and fans from around the world. By making it this far, Lexie has guaranteed herself a spot on the record label's compilation album.
Lexie is competing against artists and bands of varying genres and ages from all across Canada. The grand prize winner will receive a single release on EMI Music Canada, as well as have their music serviced to radio stations across the country.
Now in the final round of the contest, votes can be made for Lexie until the end of March.
Last year, Lexie was one of the top 16 contestants on the hit YTV show "The Next Star". In late 2011, she released her first single "That One" to United States and Saskatchewan radio. "That One" hit #61 in the Power Source Country Music charts for December, 2011 in the USA.
