In honour of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 15 to 21, CNIB would like to recognize its wonderful volunteers. CNIB has always been an organization of people helping people. Nowhere is that more evident than in the incredible work of its volunteers. The CNIB volunteer team stretches from one end of the country to the other and is made up of Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life. They're truly the heart and soul of the organization. They do everything from producing accessible library materials, to coordinating CNIB events, to working with people who are blind or partially sighted right in their own homes and communities.

"Without the services of the CNIB and its volunteers, I would not have built my independence and self confidence again. Having gone through vision loss, it does affect your day to day life in ways most people take for granted. Without the great people who work or volunteer with CNIB, I would not be able to still be in the work force, and still be a productive member of society," said a CNIB client in Timmins, Ontario.
