Weekly RCMP report

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 38 calls between the 6th and the 12th of April. Beginning the day for the 6th, members responded to a call of a single vehicle rollover near the community of Redvers.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 38 calls between the 6th and the 12th of April.

Beginning the day for the 6th, members responded to a call of a single vehicle rollover near the community of Redvers.

The vehicle's two occupants, a 42-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, were unharmed in the incident.

A 911 call was received, with the call being not understandable, and was terminated from the caller's end prematurely.

The number was called back, and the caller, who sounded intoxicated, informed members the call had been a misdial.

A complaint was received regarding an unwanted person in the area.

The complainant stated the individual was violent, and was punching holes in the walls of the residence in question.

Members happened to be on patrol near the area, and responded within two minutes.

Upon arriving at the home, members found the premises calm and secure, with no evidence of damaged to the home.

The case is considered closed.

A 911 call was received regarding a fire on a power pole near Redvers.

Members contact the Redvers fire services, as well as Sask Power.

Sask Power turned off the power, and the fire was doused successfully, the cause of the blaze being tracked to a crack in the transformer's face guard.

The fire caused no other damage.

Members received a call from OnStar regarding a single vehicle MVA near Kenosee Lake.

The OnStar representative informed members the vehicle and driver were in a ditch at the side of the road with two flat tires.

Members attended the accident scene where they found the 93-year-old male driver unharmed.

The driver informed members that he had 'blacked out' previous to the accident.

A tow truck was summoned to remove the vehicle from the ditch, and SGI was contacted to undergo a license review for the driver.

A false alarm was the first call for members on April 7.

The alarm came from a commercial property in Arcola, however before members arrived at the location, the alarm company called back to cancel the alarm.

Members patrolled in search of a driver reported to be unlicensed and unregistered.

They were unable to find the suspect vehicle.

Members responded to a call concerning a sudden death in the community of Parkman.

The 86-year-old male was found not breathing at the scene.

There was no evidence of foul play.

April 8 began with a call from an individual requesting assistance in locating an individual.

Members found the property where the individual had been staying in a state of disarray, with garbage and clothing strewn about, however they were unable to locate the subject of the call.

Upon further investigation, members found that the person in question had contacted a grandfather and informed him a week previous that they would be going to Montreal to find work.

As the last report of the person came from Winnipeg, Winnipeg Police Services were informed of the situation.

Due to the previous message about the individual heading to Montreal, there is no concern regarding the individual's safety.

A false alarm drew members to a business in the town of Carlyle.

Arriving at the scene, members found the premises secure.

April 9 began with members opening an investigation into a case of fraud.

The complainant contacted the detachment to report large sums of money being removed remotely from their account.

The complainant's financial institution track the source of withdraws to the country of Mexico.

Due to security on the accounts, the monies will be returned to the account holder, and members continue in the investigation of the matter.

Members responded to a call for assistance from the area regarding a 19-year-old male.

The caller reported the individual was blacking out, however the caller was concerned as the individual had warrants pending in their name.

Members attended the scene, and found the residence empty when they arrived.

The matter is considered closed.

Members received a complaint from a person in the city of Edmonton, AB, regarding a reported theft of an iPhone.

The caller reported that the iPhone was now in the possession of a person who was also in Edmonton, a fact discovered when a text message from a family member to the phone was responded to.

Members forwarded the information to Edmonton Police Services for further investigation.

Calls for the 10th began with a missing persons report.

The complainant, who was the subject's employer, had not seen the individual in days, and had not heard from them.

Members contacted the subject's family in the province of New Brunswick, and were informed the individual was in hospital recovering from a medical procedure.

Members contacted the individual, who stated they had been unable to contact the complainant.

Members contacted the employer, and informed them of the situation.

A call was received reporting a single vehicle rollover south west of Carlyle.

The incident left the vehicle on its wheels, and the driver, a 16-year-old female, was unharmed.

The MVA is considered to be related to driver inexperience, and no charges were laid in the matter.

A 911 hang-up call drew members to investigate at a residence in the area.

Arriving at the scene, a resident explained to members that a number of young children had been playing with a phone, and likely had dialled the number.

The matter is considered settled.

Members received a 911 call from the area reporting a fight between the complainant and a nephew.

The caller detailed that the suspect had torn up identification papers, and had been making threats over the phone.

Members responded to the scene and took a statement.

The matter is under investigation.

Members received a 911 call from a driver on Highway 9.

The caller complained about an area where a crew was doing road work, stating that there was no signage in the area leading up to the work zone.

The caller stated that, as a result of the lack of signage, they had driven through the work zone at a higher rate of speed, and had been insulted with gestures by the work crew.

Members attended the area, and found no issues with visibility, with the work crew clearly visible up to two miles from the site of the work.

Members responded to a call of unwanted persons at a home.

The caller stated the subjects were partying, and therefore asked the individuals be removed from the property.

Members attended, however the residence was vacant when they arrived.

The matter was concluded.

Members began a file regarding a reported hit-and-run near Redvers.

The caller stated the damage to their vehicle had occurred sometime between May, and the past week.

A report was made to SGI for insurance purposes.

April 11 calls began with a call to the detachment from an individual who would be unable to make a court date due to work.

Members took the callers information and put a one week hold on the issuance of a warrant.

A file was created following a pursuit of a vehicle on Highway 9.

The vehicle had fled when members on patrol attempted to pull the vehicle over for a roadside stop.

The pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

A complaint of a gas-and-dash was received from the Co-op in Carlyle.

Members attended the station, and took information from on-duty personnel regarding the incident.

Recognizing the vehicle in question, members attended the individual's home, however the individual was not at the residence, so a note was left requesting the individual attend the Co-op and pay the outstanding amount.

The detachment was later contacted by the business to inform them that the subject had attended the Co-op and paid the outstanding balance.

A call was received reporting an intoxicated driver on the roads driving a blue minivan.

Attending the place the caller reported as seeing the driver and vehicle, members found the vehicle off the road, with a severely intoxicated individual asleep behind the wheel, with the engine running.

The individual was taken to the detachment for holding, and while there, failed a breathalyser test.

Charges have been laid against the 36-year-old male of care and control of a vehicle while intoxicated, care and control of a motor vehicle over 0.8, and driving while disqualified.

Members responded to a report of a break-and-enter at Parkland School in Wawota.

Statements were taken at the scene, and evidence collected.

The school was entered through a window which was shattered.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP request that anyone who might have information about the incident to contact either the RCMP, or Crime Stoppers.

Members filed a report regarding the theft of a cell phone at the request of an individual in Arcola.

The report was for insurance purposes.

Calls on Thursday, April 12 began with a request by RPS (Regina Police Services) to locate an individual who had outstanding warrants.

Members located the individual, however when the subject spotted police, they fled on foot into heavily wooded country.

An additional charge of resisting arrest has been added.

Members later tracked the subject to another residence, however the subject again fled police, this time jumping from a window in the home.

A second charge of resisting arrest has been added.

The last call of the report week came from the community of Redvers, with the complainant describing an act of mischief that damaged a fence on the caller's property.

The matter continues to be investigated.
