The weekly report is prepared with the assistance of the Carlyle RCMP. Issues involving the Mental Health Act, among others, are not reported.
The report of this week covers the period of Nov. 5 to 11. The detachment assisted with 44 calls during that time period.
November 5
RCMP received a complaint of harassing phone calls from Whitebear Resort. The complainant wished to pursue charges however, charges were not able to be pursued. Members contacted the individual placing the phone calls and requested they stop.
The detachment received a report of two females attempting to dine-and-dash from an establishment in Carlyle. Members attended and discussed the situation with the individuals, at which time, the individuals returned to pay for their meals.
RCMP members are investigating an assault in Arcola where two females who were under the influence of alcohol were part of an altercation. The matter is still under investigation.
November 6
Police received a 911 call from the area. The 911 operator felt it was kids that were playing with the phone. Members contacted the residence and spoke with adults who were advised of the phone call.
RCMP received a 911 call concerning a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident. No injuries resulted from the accident and alcohol was not a factor. Both vehicles were drivable and police attendance was not required. The individuals were advised to report the accident to their respective insurance companies.
RCMP received a complaint from a Wawota resident in regards to his truck being hit by a loader. There was quite a bit of damage caused by the driver of the loader, who was unknown. The matter is still under investigation.
November 7
Members were called to a false alarm at the Whitebear Golf Club.
RCMP attended a report from a minor vehicle accident in Carlyle on Main Street. There was a vehicle backing out of a parking stall in the centre of the street that was hit by another vehicle. No charges were laid in that incident.
The detachment received a complaint of harassing phone calls from the Redvers area. The matter is still under investigation.
RCMP received a call concerning four or five cattle that were loose on the road.
November 8
RCMP received a call of a break-and-enter in progress at a cabin in Whitebear Resort. Members attended and it appeared as though a break-and-enter was attempted, but failed. Evidence was removed for finger printing. The matter is on-going.
The detachment received a complaint from individual receiving harassing phone calls in Wawota. The phone calls were being received from an ex-common-law and were being reported for information purposes in case the situation escalates.
The detachment received a report of a counterfeit five-dollar bill being received by a business in Wawota. The bill was seized by RCMP members and is being analyzed to determine whether it is counterfeit.
The detachment received a report of a vehicle being broken into at a parking lot in Redvers. A wallet was stolen from the vehicle.
November 9
RCMP received a call of a motor vehicle accident with wildlife. No injuries resulted from the incident. The vehicle is from out-of-province.
A warrant was issued for a 47-year-old Arcola resident who failed to appear in court on Nov. 9.
RCMP responded to a false alarm from a business in Arcola.
The detachment received two 911 calls from a Wawota resident who had dialled 911 in error while he was attempting to dial 411.
Members assisted a couple of individuals in a landlord/tenant dispute in Carlyle.
Police received a false 911 call where an individual's grandson was playing with the phone and dialled 911.
Police continue to investigate a complaint of a threat posted on Facebook.
RCMP received a complaint of mischief done to a home in the area where a big picture window was smashed out. The matter is still under investigation.
November 10
Police received a complaint from an individual in Redvers who had been bitten by a dog. Members spoke to the owner of the dog.
A 19-year-old male was stopped for aggressive driving in Carlyle. The individual showed signs of impairment and was taken for breath samples. As a result, the individual was charges with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08. The driver's license was suspended for 90 days and he will be appearing in court Dec. 7.
The detachment received a 911 call reporting the theft of a 1998 or 1999 F-150 truck, black in colour. The vehicle was towed out of the complainant's yard in Carlyle. The matter is under investigation.
RCMP received a call of assault with a weapon in Kisbey. A 17-year-old youth was attacked with a knife by a 19-year-old. The matter is still under investigation.
The detachment received a 911 call concerning a deer motor vehicle accident. The vehicle was not drivable and had been parked on the side of highway 13 by Arcola.
RCMP received a 911 call from the Redvers area where nothing was heard. A static line resulted when the number was called back. Members attended the residence and no one was located in the house or outside buildings.
A report of a vehicle being stolen from Carlyle was received. The vehicle was taken from where it was parked, a wallet was stolen, and the vehicle was returned to the owner's driveway with damage to the passenger side door. The matter is still under investigation.
Members attended to a false alarm at a Pheasant Rump business.
RCMP received an anonymous 911 call concerning an intoxicated individual driving in the area. Patrols were made and the suspect was not located.
November 11
RCMP received a call concerning a single vehicle rollover on highway 601 near Wauchope. All passengers suffered injuries and were taken to Arcola hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
The detachment received a complaint of theft of fuel stolen from a slip tank located in the back of a company tank in Redvers. The matter is still under investigation.
Police received a 911 call concerning an erratic driver driving more than 150 kilometres per hour on highway 13 near Antler. The complainant phoned back a few minutes later to indicate that the vehicle was now in Manitoba. Manitoba RCMP were advised.
The detachment received a report of a camper burning in the area. The individual did not require police or fire department attendance.
RCMP received a complaint concerning a number of intoxicated people getting out of a vehicle in the area. The complainant was concerned because one of the individuals couldn't stand and was lying in the middle of the road. Members attended and upon arrival at the scene, the individuals were gone.
