The Weyburn Communithon needs volunteers to help during their annual fundraising event.

WEYBURN - It is no secret that the Weyburn Communithon is made entirely possible by the support of generous and eager volunteers from the community, which Weyburn is long famous for.

Do you have a passion for lending a helping hand? The Weyburn Communithon needs your help! Without the support of individuals like you, this event could not take place. Grab your coworkers, friends or family to take a break from the day to day and give back to your community.

“We’re always looking for volunteers and community members to help support the event,” said Raven Daer, Communications Committee chair for Communithon. “We have a lot of fun along the way, and it is great to see how many new connections form through this amazing event. It is truly such a spectacular day in the sense that we are able to showcase and enjoy a plethora of local talent, while truly being such a large supporting factor in a number of community organizations.”

Hundreds of volunteer hours are put into the planning and hosting of Communithon every year and now the committee is looking for eager individuals to help them with the set up and execution of the annual event.

The Weyburn Communithon will be hosting “Fall in Love with Communithon” on Friday, October 28 at the Weyburn Legion Hall.

Every year, donations from the community donated to Communithon are then allocated back to the Community Agencies to help ensure that they are able to continue to provide the important and necessary programs and services they provide to local families.

The Community Agencies receiving support through the 2022 Communication are:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn

• Canadian Mental Health Association

• Community Low Income Centre

• CNIB Foundation

• Envision Counselling and Support Centre

• Inclusion Weyburn

• Southeast Advocates for Employment

• Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan
