Weyburn Comp cast begins performances of Frozen Jr. on Nov. 22

Frozen Jr. will be performed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Cugnet Centre, as the Weyburn Comp's Grades 7-9 cast presents the story of Anna and Elsa in song and dance.

WEYBURN – The cast and crew for the junior high production of the stage musical Frozen Jr. at the Weyburn Comprehensive School will open their performances on Tuesday night, Nov. 22 at the Cugnet Centre, with performances also on stage on Nov. 23, and on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. each evening.

The director is music teacher Brayden Jensen, and he has the cast learning their lines, and rehearsing their songs and choreography in after-school practices.

The musical will follow the movie storyline fairly closely, other than the confrontation with the ice monster, following the adventures of sisters Anna and Elsa, and friends like Olaf, Hans, Sven and Kristoff.

For the top two characters, there are three actresses at different age levels.

Young Anna is played by Izabelle Cugnet; middle Anna is Jacey Kot, and Anna is Peyton Lokken. Young Elsa is played by Pressley Barber; middle Anna is Rachel McGowan, and Elsa is Keira Mahnke.

Kristoff is played by Camden Husband; Tace Odima is Hans; Bailey Roy plays Olaf the snowman; Lilith Moffat is Sven; and Cara Johnson is Oaken.

Chorus members play part of Oaken’s family, townspeople, the snow chorus, the hidden folk, castle staff and the summertime chorus, with a total of around 45 performers in the cast.
