Weyburn fire fighters respond to house fire

It did not appear anyone was hurt in the fire

WEYBURN - Three trucks from the Weyburn Fire Department responded to a fire in a home on the corner of 10th Street and East Avenue in Weyburn on Saturday afternoon, with Weyburn EMS and Weyburn Police Service also on the scene to assist.

It didn't appear anyone was hurt in the fire, which seemed contained to the basement area, and in a wall on the north side of the house.

There was smoke coming out of a side window and a side door, and firefighters used a chainsaw and pickaxe to break into the wall to get at the fire.

It is not known at this time the extent of the damage, or the cause of the fire, which is under investigation by the fire department.
