WEYBURN – Richard Wick, vice-president of the Knights of Columbus in Weyburn (left), and Ray Ball, treasurer, presented a donation of $1,000 to Shannon Fodchuk of the Salvation Army on Monday morning.

"We did really well this year," said Pete Broccolo of the Knights, noting that while the Knights reaches out to help families, an organization like the Salvation Army is set up to practically send out assistance to families in need, particularly at this time of the year.

"Through the year, the community helps us to help the community," he added.

The funds were raised in a raffle the Knights were selling tickets for at the Communithon fundraiser supper in October, and will go towards helping the Salvation Army stock its food bank with needed food items. (All of the funds raised at the supper itself went to support the Communithon.)
