An adult male faces several charges following a Sunday evening traffic stop. Thanks to an alert individual remembering “RID” (Report Impaired Drivers – Pull Over and Call 911), another dangerous driver was removed from the streets, but not without some resistance.

Officers located the suspect vehicle and found the driver to be not only very intoxicated, but also very aggressive toward them. The male resisted arrest, physically assaulted the officers attempting to make the arrest, and at one point attempted to obtain possession of an officer’s firearm. In order to gain control of the male, a CEW (Conducted Energy Weapon) was successfully deployed allowing the officers to handcuff and safely take the male into custody.

The man now faces charges of impaired driving, refusing to comply with a breath demand, operating a conveyance while prohibited, dangerous operation of a conveyance, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and attempting to disarm a police officer.
