Weyburn Red Wings to assist with public skating over winter

Red Wings players will be on the ice to chaperone and engage with public skaters.

WEYBURN – The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings have partnered with the City of Weyburn to supervise Sunday afternoon public skating sessions this winter.

Free open skating on Sunday from 2:45-4:45 p.m. at Tom Zandee Sports Arena is sponsored by the Weyburn Young Fellows.

The Red Wings will be on the ice to chaperone and engage with public skaters.

“This partnership with the Weyburn Red Wings is another great example of the athletes’ enthusiasm for our community,” said Tina Clay, program manager with the City of Weyburn. “The City is so excited to have the players on the ice to help promote our public skating opportunities.”

Sunday public skating will run until the beginning of March 2023. Skating will not be available on Dec. 25, Jan. 1 and March 5.

Sticks and pucks are not allowed.
