WEYBURN – The Weyburn Young Fellows Club has their Christmas tree lot open for the season, after sourcing some 435 trees from a supplier in Alberta.

The club was able to open on Wednesday evening after taking delivery of the balsam and Fraser fir trees.

The supplier was found after an extended search for trees this year, and the prices are up from past years as a result.

The price for balsams is $13 a foot, and $15 a foot for Fraser firs, and some of the taller trees are a flat fee.

The lot will be open seven days a week from now until Dec. 22, or as long as the stock lasts, at their location on Second Street behind the Co-op food store.

The hours for the tree lot are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and on weekends, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The tree lot is one of the club’s biggest fundraisers of the year, and all of the money raised stays in Weyburn, supporting their projects and non-profit organizations in the community.
