Weyburn's Festival of Trees available for viewing until Nov. 24

Residents can see the decorated trees at two locations this year, at Barber Motors and Great Plains Ford

WEYBURN — Viewing of decorated Christmas trees set up for the Festival of Trees began on Nov. 18 and will be available for viewing until Nov. 24.

The annual fundraiser auction of trees for the Family Place will be online this year, but the trees which have been decorated and donated will be on display in two locations, at Barber Motors and at Great Plains Ford.

As of late Monday afternoon, the Family Place had 20 trees lined up, with Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday designated as the setup days for the trees.

The live auction of the trees will be done online throughout the day on Thursday, Nov. 25.

In addition, silent auction items can be viewed on the Family Place’s Facebook page from Nov. 18 to 24, and bids for those items will close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 24.

As part of the Festival of Trees, Fletcher Funeral Chapel will have their memorial angel tree at their office on Fourth Street, where residents can purchase an angel for $5 in memory of a loved one, and all of the proceeds from this will go to the Family Place. The angels can be purchased from Nov. 18 to 24 during their office hours.

In addition, Christmas memorial candles are available from Dec. 1-23 for $10 each, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Family Place.
