The Children?s Wish Foundation will be holding the sixth annual Wishmaker Walk for Wishes at River Park on October 16.

The walk raises awareness and funds for the Children?s Wish Foundation. Established in 1984, Children's Wish is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a favourite wish for children aged three to 17 diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.

Since its inception, Children's Wish has granted more than 16,000 wishes for children and their families, including 700 in Saskatchewan and four in Weyburn. Currently, there are 60 wishes in progress in Saskatchewan and two in Weyburn.

Last year, the Wishmaker Walk raised $200,000 in Saskatchewan and $1.4 million across Canada.

Registration for the Weyburn walk begins at 10 a.m. The walk will start at 11 a.m. with a celebration to follow.
