Weyburn Tourism “Be A Tourist in your own Hometown” has officially wrapped up, and the last day for entries was on Aug. 30. Weyburn Tourism announced that Meaghan Andrew is the winner of the prize package for the contest.

“Our 2021 campaign again exceeded our expectations, and we appreciate all the wonderful residents who took the time to #ExploreWeyburn through our summer-long scavenger hunt. This initiative encouraged our residents to explore Weyburn, while winning local prizes so they can continue to experience Weyburn. We applaud everyone who joined in on the scavenger hunt this year, we had some eager participants,” said Tourism Weyburn executive director Larry Heggs.

“We really want to thank all the residents that took part in our summer campaign,” said Heggs. “It was fantastic seeing how fast the instant prizes were being found.”

Meaghan’s ballot came in on Aug. 13 when the instant prize was hidden at the Riverwood Sign (bricks that were used from the Souris Valley Mental Hospital).

She has won a staycation in Weyburn which includes: one night complimentary stay at Microtel Inn and Suites, plus 20 per cent off at The Lobby; breakfast for two at the Welsh Kitchen; four sandwiches from Low-Brow BBQ; a take-home game from Unravel Escape Rooms; and two free ice-cream treats from Dairy Queen.

Weyburn Tourism thanked Microtel, Welsh Kitchen, Lowbrow BBQ, Unravel Escape Rooms, and Dairy Queen who donated all of these prizes.

Although summer is ending, along with the campaign, residents are urged to keep tagging Weyburn Tourism in photos when you are in and around Weyburn. They will showcase the photos on their social media platforms.
