Yellow Grass Drop In Centre now open Saturday nights

Yellow Grass (cpd) - The Drop In held their regular monthly board meeting on Jan. 10. It was decided to open the Drop In on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. for fun, games and coffee, and there will be a charge of $2 per person.

It was decided to open the Drop In on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. for fun, games and coffee, and there will be a charge of $2 per person. The centre has a shuffleboard table, a pool table, a Wii, card games and other activities. Everyone is welcome.
There were 16 teams attending a shuffleboard tournament at the Drop In Centre on Jan. 13. Winners of the A side were Joan Harder and Sue Wood, and winners of the B side were Bing Jaster and Shirley Bartlett.
The Lilac United Church Women's unit met at the Yellow Grass United Church on Jan. 11. Eileen Lansdell and Eleanor McClinton were in charge of the worship, program and lunch.
The workshop theme was "A Matter of Time". The program was information about Carmichael Outreach and Salvation Army food bank and their Christmas hampers.
The same officers will remain for 2012. The same budget as in 2011 was adopted. Donations were given to the mission and service fund, a local church, Calling Lakes Centre (PCTC), St. Andrew's College, conference bursary fund, Camp Metochos, and the South Sask. Hospital Chaplaincy.
It was noted that the World Day of Prayer theme is "Let Justice Prevail" and that three Bible studies could be held. Used stamps for the leprosy mission are being collected until Feb. 1 and can be left in the entrance of the United Church in the designated box. The next meeting is on Feb. 1 with Lona Wilkinson and Joan Klippenstein hosting.
