Yellow Grass (cpd) - The Yellow Grass Skating Club will hold a beach party on Sunday, March 6, at 4 p.m. in the Yellow Grass Rink. Everyone is welcome. The Grade 5 and 6 classes held a bake sale in the Yellow Grass School Resource Centre on Feb.

The Grade 5 and 6 classes held a bake sale in the Yellow Grass School Resource Centre on Feb. 9 at lunch time. Students and staff of the school supported the Valentine's themed bake sale by purchasing all the goodies. A hot lunch of taco in a bag, white or chocolate milk and ice cream was sold to staff and students at the school on Feb. 16 at lunch time.
The Grades 5-12 traveled to Mission Ridge Winter Park in Fort Qu'Appelle on Feb. 3, leaving at 9 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m.
A Shamrock Sunday Supper is planned for Mar. 6 in the Yellow Grass United Church from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The menu is turkey with all of the trimmings and pie. Cost is $12.50 for adults and $5 for children 12 years old and under. Everyone is welcome.
Two tables of crib were played in the Drop-In Centre on Feb. 4. Winners were Eileen Lansdell and Lona Wilkinson.
Shuffleboard was played at the Drop-In on Feb. 11. The first place winner was Sophie Skulmoski and Doug Wilkinson while Rena Wilke and Lona Wilkinson took second.
The Lilac United Catholic Women's Unit met at the Yellow Grass United Church on Feb. 2. Grace Quigley and Eleanor McClinton were in charge of the worship program and lunch. The theme used was "God's love for us" and Valentine's Day.
Information about the Canadian Bible Society was given. The purpose is to translate, to publicize, to distribute and to encourage the use of Biblical scriptures that contain the good news of God's love.
For business, it was noted that the annual church meeting is on Feb. 27, following the morning church service and noon lunch. The World Day of Prayer worship service will be held during that morning's worship time.
The group decided to cancel the March 2 meeting but to have the April meeting on March 30. At that time Lona Wilkinson and Eileen Lansdell will be hostesses.
Gerald Michael Halloway of Yellow Grass passed away at his home on Feb. 5 at 54 years of age. At his request, no funeral was held.
