A busy night at the Estevan Motor Speedway wraps up doubleheader weekend

Saturday's program wrapped up the weekend late model doubleheader.

The Estevan Motor Speedway delivered two nights of entertainment on the weekend.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Motor Speedway wrapped up its latest doubleheader on Saturday night with action in six different classes, including late models for the second straight night. 

Aaron Turnbull won the late model program, with Scott Greer coming second, Terry Carter finishing third and Jim Harris winding up fourth.

Kody Scholpp won the modified feature on Saturday, finishing ahead of Tyson Turnbull. Steven Pfeifer came in third.

Scholpp has a one-point lead, 347-346, over Tyson Turnbull. Joey Galloway is third with 325 points.

In the stock car class, Jeremy Swanson was able to fend off Chris Hortness for the feature win. JJ Barnstable took third.

Hortness has a big lead in the stock car class standings with 349 points, 30 more than Chase Davidson’s 319 and 35 more than Jeremy Istace and Geoff Mann at 314.

Leevi Runge won the feature in the sport mod class for the second straight night. Keenan Glasser was second and Dustin Mayer wound up in third.

Runge leads the sport mod standings with 311 points, 20 more than Glasser. Justin Fichter is third with 278 points.

Quentin Skjerdal won the hobby stock feature, with Runge taking second and Kaiden Tuchscherer in third.

Tuchscherer leads the hobby stock points race by 14, 343-329, over Connor Hansen. Kayden Hjorteland is third with 328 points.

And Gunner Raynard won his first-ever feature race in the slingshot class, finishing ahead of Jace Emmel and Jacek Ashworth.

Emmel has 344 points to sit first in the overall standings, four more than Cash Saxon’s 340 and 11 more than Eli Turnbull’s 333.

Up next for the speedway is the final doubleheader program of the season Aug. 26 and 27. The track champions are to be decided during the program on the 27th.
