With two more wins over the weekend, the Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins extended their winning streak to 15 straight.

The Bruins hosted the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday night at the Civic Auditorium, where they downed their opponents 6-2. The Warriors opened the scoring in the first period when Justin Nelson found the back of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The score was tied 2-2 after the middle frame as Brody Connolly and Rhett Handley each scored for the Bruins and Aaron From responded for the Warriors.

Estevan took over the game in the third period, exploding for four goals to win the contest 6-2. Markers in the third period came from Connelly, Dylan Johner, Mark Moriarty and Marshall Holzer. Tyler Myers got the win in goal for Estevan, making 22 saves.

The Bruins hit the road Saturday for a date in Regina against the Wild. Estevan scored early and often in that contest and breezed to a 10-2 victory.

Marshall Holzer led the way offensively for the Bruins with three goals and an assist. Connelly added a pair of markers, while Johner, Austin Halladay, Brycen Odgers, Travis Holma and Dylan Herzberg added the others. Nate Ferris got the win between the pipes.

Estevan's record is now 23-3-1 on the season. Their next action is tonight when they face the Prairie Storm in Pilot Butte in the first of their two-game, total-goals provincial series. The two clubs will then meet again Friday night at the Civic at 8:30.
