Assiniboia Rockets volleyball teams wins gold at SHSAA regionals

The Rockets will host the SHSAA 3A Boys Volleyball Provincial Championship on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26.

ASSINIBOIA - The Assiniboia Rockets senior boys’ volleyball team won the gold medal at the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) 3A Boys West Regional playoffs in Outlook on Nov. 19 and 20.

The Rockets went undefeated in their pool play defeating teams from Briercrest, Kindersley, and Biggar. This advanced the Rockets to the semi-finals against the host team from Outlook with Assiniboia winning 25-13 and 25-18 in the best-of-three-sets match.

The gold medal game featured the Rockets and Unity, with the Rockets prevailing in a tough three-set match 26-28, 25-13, 15-10.

The Rockets will host the SHSAA 3A Boys Volleyball Provincial Championship on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26.  Games will be held in the gymnasium at the Assiniboia high school and the Prince of Wales Center.
